Alternex.com has been founded by Charles Bromfield and George Bromfield in 2008 to assist in the development of alternate power sources that reduce of the effect of fuels on the pocket book, as well as on the environment, while making a profit for its principals.

We have formed associations and alliances with other professionals and other business to assure our coverage of the primary areas of power savings in particular fossil fuels.

Alternex has designed and are patenting various small wind generation systems specifically for the Caribbean. We are also focusing on air conditioning which is the largest consumer of power in homes and offices. We have the first Solar absorption air conditioning system in Jamaica, which is being installed at our office to show its viability to the public. This includes solar ice makers and freezers. Our engineers have also developed creative solar photo voltaic compression air conditioners.

We support the use of the CIGS (Thin Film) panels which are the most appropriate for Jamaica if installation space is available. Waste heat saving, cooling savings and reuse is very important to manufacturers and hotels, and Alternex can identify and find creative solutions in this area.

Jamaica is blessed with abundant sun and wind. We have the opportunity to supply our own energy with natural resources already available in the country; which will lessen our dependence on imported oil.

Jamaica is also capable of manufacturing our own wind turbines, which will create jobs while decreasing our debt due to oil imports.
